Getting Started

Email to App

Build an app without even opening your browser. Send an email to build@webase.com describing what you want, and Webase will generate a complete, working app and email you back with a link.

No login required to start. Just send an email. If you already have a Webase account with that email address, the app is added to your dashboard. If you're new, we'll create an account for you automatically.

How It Works

1

Send an Email

Compose an email to build@webase.com. Use the subject line as your app name and the email body as your app description. Describe what you want your app to do in plain English — just like you would in the Webase editor.

2

AI Generates Your App

Webase receives your email, extracts your description, and kicks off the same AI generation pipeline used in the editor. The AI creates a complete set of React components, styles, and configuration files based on your description.

3

Get Your App Link

Once generation is complete, you'll receive a reply email with a direct link to your new app in the Webase editor. Click the link to see your live preview, refine it with chat, or share the preview URL with others.

Writing a Good Email

The same tips that apply to describing apps in the editor apply here. The more detail you provide, the better your first version will be.

Subject Line = App Name

Keep it short and descriptive. This becomes your app's name and URL slug.

  • "Team Task Tracker" — Clear and specific.
  • "Recipe Book" — Simple and to the point.
  • "Freelance Invoice Manager" — Tells the AI exactly what domain to target.

Email Body = App Description

Describe your app's features, layout, and any preferences. Here's an example:

Subject: Habit Tracker

Body: A daily habit tracker where I can add habits, check them off each day, and see weekly streaks. Include a dashboard with a calendar heatmap showing my consistency over time. Use a clean, minimal design with a dark mode toggle.

Tips & Best Practices

  • One app per email — Each email creates one app. Send separate emails for separate apps.
  • Plain text works best — The AI reads your email body as plain text. Formatting like bold or bullet points is fine but not required.
  • Be specific about features — Mention data fields, pages, navigation, and interactions you want. "A CRM with contacts, companies, and a deal pipeline" gives better results than just "a CRM."
  • Mention design preferences — Include color schemes, layout preferences, or specific UI elements if you have them in mind.
  • Refine in the editor — Your emailed app is a starting point. Once generated, open it in the editor to refine with chat, add data models, or run an evaluation.

Accounts & Limits

Email-to-app uses the same plan limits as the regular editor:

  • Existing account — The app is created under your account and counts toward your plan's app and message limits.
  • New email address — A free account is created automatically. You'll receive a welcome email with instructions to set your password.
  • Plan limits apply — If you've reached your plan's app limit, the generation will not proceed. You'll receive an email letting you know to upgrade or delete an existing app.

What Happens Next

After your app is generated via email, you have all the same capabilities as any Webase app:

Try it now! Send an email to build@webase.com with your app idea and see what Webase creates for you. You can always refine it later in the editor.
